Safety is a top priority at Alaska Line Builders and is demonstrated through the excellent safety record. ALB is committed to ensuring the safety of their crews, clients, subcontractors, and general public by surpassing State of Alaska safety regulations. As a member of the IBEW and NECA, ALB ensures high quality training is provided to their crews and requires that all journeymen linemen are certified through the State of Alaska Department of Labor with a State of Alaska Certificate of Fitness (State Electrical License). In addition to linemen certification, ALB conducts weekly safety meetings and ensures employees receive certification and ongoing training in topics such as:
- CPR/First Aid
- OSHA training
- Flagger training
- Hazard Communication training
- 100% Fall Protection training
All employees submit to new hire and random drug testing and must maintain a clean driving record throughout their employment with ALB. All crews have a first aid kit and AED (automated external defibrillator) on site while completing work and are trained in their use.
Our employees and safety personnel continue to receive training and certifications, all in a focused effort and to improve our safety practices.
In addition to employee training, ALB ensures all trucks, equipment, tools, and hardware are inspected and maintained on a regular basis, at or above state and federal regulations, to ensure safety is always maintained.
